A Day With Stranger

Skie Launch Tower, City L.

Flora is standing in front of the tower, this tower is the main attraction to the city L. This tower is renowned as a business hub.

All kinds of shops, offices, malls, and restaurants are present in this tower. The tower consists of 32 floors and it is bustling with people.

Flora wiped her tears before entering the tower. She went into the elevator and reached the 30th floor. 

Flora went to the corner of the floor and stood in front of a shop. The door is made of glass and on the top of it, the name of the shop is written on a wooden plank with beautiful calligraphy.

“Well Wishers”

There are so many things happening to Flora in one day. Yesterday was the most dreadful day in her life and she cried till today morning. She never cried in her life like this.

Flora found the pamphlet of well-wishers in her room. The name itself made her cringe but she read its content.

Well, Wishers provide support to people who want to spend their day with strangers. If anyone wants to share their feelings with total strangers they will provide the opportunity. They also mention that the employees and customers do not go for physical abuse or mental abuse.

Flora felt like it didn't make any sense but still came here to share her grief with someone who is not related to her in any way.

Flora took a deep breath and opened the door of well-wishers and went inside. There is a gentleman wearing glasses speaking with a young man.

Flora went near them and the gentlemen spoke “Hello Miss. Welcome. How may I help you?”

Flora hesitated a bit but his kind smile relaxed her a bit. “I saw your advertisement and came.”

“Please come with me, Miss. We will sit and discuss.” The gentleman took her to the nearest sofa.

After settling down he introduced himself “Miss, I am Paul. The founder of Well Wishers”

“I am Flora,” Flora said and shook hands with him.

“Nice meeting you, Ms.Flora”

“I am happy to say that you are our first client. Please let me know for how many hours you need our assistance” Paul asked excitedly.

“How much do you charge per day?” Flora inquired nervously.

Paul's eyes lit with happiness but he maintained his posture and replied “I didn’t charge much, but as you are our first customer I want to give you a discount of 20%. You know we need to pay our employees and “

Flora stopped him and said “Here is my card”

Flora doesn't have the patience to listen to his gibberish and she doesn't mind how much it costs. She is earning well and living well.

Paul’s eyes lit and hurriedly called the employee who will accompany her today “Ryon, come here. We got our first customer.”

Flora looked up to see the person who was going to accompany her. Ryon is tall and seems skinny but has broad shoulders and clear dark brown eyes. He seems refreshing to her eyes.

“Hello, Miss. I am Ryon.” Ryon said and forwarded his hand for a shaking hand.

“Hello, I am Flora.” Flora stood up and shook his hands.

“Ryon, you should take good care of Ms.Flora” Paul stated.

Ryon nodded his head, Paul completed the procedure and handed the card back to Flora. Flora kept her card in her bag and turned around to leave.

Ryon also followed her and they both heard “Enjoy your day, Ms. Flora, ``Paul shouted.

Flora and Ryon went outside and it was awkward for both of them. They both are complete strangers and they don’t know anything apart from their names.

Flora sighed and stopped in her tracks. Ryon also stopped and looked at Flora.

“Miss, Anything wrong?” Ryon asked.

“See, I don’t know if this is good or bad. But I acted on impulse but I don't want my boring day to be too boring. And you don't need to be polite, So call me Flora, Ryon” Flora stated.

Ryon looked at Flora for a few seconds and nodded with a smile. Flora was struck by his cute smile and looked at him without blinking.

Ryon felt uncomfortable and asked “Is there something on my face? Flora” 

Flora came out of her daze and cleared her throat before replying “Nothing.”

They both walked out of the tower and Flora's stomach growled with hunger. Flora patted her stomach and looked around to have something in her stomach.

“Flora, shall we go inside again? Maybe you will have your breakfast in some restaurant?” Ryon suggested.

“Ah.. I don't want to go again. Let’s look for something outside” Flora said with a sigh.

“Umm.. If you don’t mind me suggesting there is some local shop nearby where they sell some fresh hotdogs” Ryon suggested.

“Really?” Flora asked and her eyes twinkled with joy.

Ryon felt happy by seeing her smile like that and led the way to the hotdog shop.

Flora's tiredness vanished in thin air when she sensed the smell of hotdogs whipped in the air. She gulped a mouthful of saliva just by the smell only. 

Flora's hunger level increased hundred percent but her eyes dimmed when she saw the long queue in front of the shop.

“Ryon, are you sure we are going to eat breakfast, or is it going to be dinner today?” Flora asked disappointedly.

Ryon felt bad about seeing her and he wanted to see that spark in her eyes again. He doesn't know why but somehow he wants to bring a smile to her face.

Ryon looked around and told Flora to wait for some time before vanishing.

Flora walked away from that shop to not get hungry again and sat on the bench in the nearby park.

After some time Ryon came with a small bag and a cup of coffee. Flora's eyes lit up again by seeing the bag in his hands. 

She wanted to jump and get the bag from his hands but her manners stopped her from doing it.

Ryon smiled seeing the light in her eyes and went towards her and handed the coffee to her.

“I don't know whether you love coffee or not, but seeing you, I thought that you needed a coffee the most, so I bought one for you” Ryon reasoned.

Flora smiled seeing his thoughtfulness and said “I am not a big fan of coffee, but I used to drink when I am low or dressed. Thank you, I really need it now.”

Ryon noticed the sadness in her voice, but he just smiled and nodded.

“And, these are the hotdogs for you,” Ryon added and handed the bag to her.

Flora's eyes widened in shock and took the bag eagerly and opened it. To her shock, they are really hotdogs.

“How did you get these? There is a huge line in front of the shop,” Flora asked with bewilderment.

“I just met an old acquaintance,” Ryon informed.

“OHH”

Flora took the hotdog which is wrapped neatly in a tissue and took a bite.

“Mmmm…Yummy” Flora said blissfully.

Ryon sat beside her and enjoyed seeing her eating with contentment.

“It is the most delicious hotdog I have ever eaten Ryon, I loved it,” Flora said while munching on it.

“I am glad. You liked it” Ryon said with a smile.

Flora completed the hotdog in a minute and took another one. Then only her brain signaled her something.

“Sorry, Ryon. You can also have it. I bet you also didn't eat anything right?” Flora said with a little bit of embarrassment.

‘Flora, how come you forgot the good man when he got you hotdogs. You are really unbelievable’ she scolded herself in her mind.

“Huh, No I already had my breakfast” Ryon denied.

“I saw your face when we were at that shop. Your stomach also growled, you thought I didn't hear that because of the noise at the shop right.” Flora inquired.

Ryon rubbed her nape with embarrassment. He was hungry at that time but now he felt full in his heart when he saw her eating blissfully.

“C’mon. Have it” Flora said and handed the hotdog to him.

Ryon took the hotdog and ate silently without saying anything but his eyes widened a bit.

 

Flora, who was observing him, asked excitedly “It is delicious right?” 

Ryon's eyes shone brightly at its taste and nodded his head excitedly. Flora also smiled and ate her hotdog.

*Cough* *Cough*

Something struck his throat and he started coughing. Flora, who was drinking her coffee, placed the cup down and patted his back.

“Easy, easy. Here I have this coffee” Flora handed her coffee as she didn’t have a water bottle.

Ryon didn't think much and drank it. After a few sips, he calmed down.

“You are okay right?’ Flora inquired.

“Yes, thank you” Ryon thanked her to which Flora just smiled.

“Ahh... I feel happy after eating these hotdogs. Now let’s go and explore the city” Flora clapped her hands excitedly.

Ryon nodded his head but his ears turned red by thinking that he drank her coffee and that means an indirect ki... Kiss.

But he composed himself and stood up to accompany her.

“But, Where shall we go?” Flora frowned. 

Before Ryon replied, someone called Flora by her name.

“Flora” a sweet and gentle voice called her.

Flora's frown deepened when she saw the person who was coming towards them. She just recovered from their words but now again she showed up.

“Ryon let’s go,” Flora said and took his hand before dragging him.

Ryon turns around to see the person shouting her name and following them.

“Flora. Maybe she had something to say?” Ryon reasoned.

“I don't know her. Now run” Flora said and started running.

Ryon is amazed by her action but runs along with her. While running her hair fluttered due to the wind and her sweet smell touched his nose. 

Flora stopped suddenly and released his hand. Ryon felt disappointed and the warmth left his hand.

Flora held her knees and bent down while panting. Ryon looked at her and went to the nearby shop to bring a water bottle.

“Here” he handed the bottle to her. Flora took the bottle and sat on the roadside bench. After calming down a bit she gulped the water.

“Why did you run?” Ryon inquired.

“Now, where should we go?” Flora skipped his question. Ryon understood that she didn't want to answer him and he didn't bother her.

“Um.. If you want I will take you to a place. But it is in the city outskirts” Ryon again suggested.

“Really? I trust your taste. Come on let’s go” Flora skipped happily.

They both boarded a bus and took a ticket for Verdure Bus Station.

Flora enjoyed the scenery outside and Ryon just looked at her throughout the whole journey. In no time the bus reached the destination.

“Where are we going now?” Flora inquired.

“Secret. Come with me, first, we bought food. We don't get food there” Ryon said and dragged her to the nearby food stall.

The food stall is small but clean. There is no crowd because it is not peak hour. They are freshly making food and getting ready for customers.

“Here” Ryon handed the menu to Flora. 

Flora took the menu, the menu is simple but it is enough. It doesn’t have many dishes which makes it very easy to select.

“Do you have any allergy to any item?” Flora inquired.

Ryon smiled seeing her thoughtfulness and said “No”

Flora nodded and went to the counter and said “Excuse me, Please give 2 servings of this lunch combo and one dessert item. Takeout please”

“Okay mam, Anything else?” the cashier inquired.

“No thanks,” Flora said with a smile and handed the menu card to him.

“Here, take my card.” Ryon gave him.

“No, take this cash.” Flora gave the money.

“Flora, it’s okay,” Ryon said but Flora insisted.

“No Ryon, today morning also you paid. Let me pay this time” Flora said and shoved the money to the cashier.

Cashier smiled and took the cash and gave the change to Flora. Flora kept it in her bag and their takeout also arrived.

Ryon took the boxes and took Flora to the place. Flora didn’t doubt him even for a second, she just blindly followed him. She doesn't know from where that trust came but she is just going with the flow.

Ryon suddenly stopped in his tracks causing Flora to stop in her tracks. She looked up to ask him why he stopped. Ryon pointed his finger to her to look in that direction.

Flora followed him and her eyes widened with shock. The entire area is covered with large trees and grasslands. 

The fresh air blew on her face which made her forget all her worries, the birds chirping made her heart calm, and the sound of the wind made her jump for joy.

“WOW”

Flora exclaimed and ran towards the trees. She jumped for joy and twirled to enjoy the fresh and clean air.

She removed her shoes and walked barefoot on the ground, her smooth skin caressed by the tiny grass which felt like a tickling sensation.

The cool breeze made her hair flutter, and the birds' songs made her heart light and feel like a feather. All her pent-up emotions, and feelings all gone in a second.

“Ryon, thank you for bringing me here,” Flora exclaimed happily.

Ryon just smiled and watched her happily. He placed a blanket on the ground and placed all their things on the blanket. 

Flora soon joined him and they both ate their food happily. After their lunch, they both lay on the blanket and stared at the sky. Under the tree shades the sunlight is not heavy and they can see the clear blue sky. They both are silent but it is comfortable.

“How wonderful it is to fly right?” Flora breaks the silence.

“Mm. It is wonderful” Ryon added.

“Ryon, what do you do if your friends turn against you? The friends who you trusted from your childhood turned their back and stabbed you?” Flora's sudden question caught him off guard.

Ryon didn't give an answer immediately, he thought for some time before replying “It will be hard to be in that situation. But it is not impossible to come out of that period. All you need is the spirit to face hurdles and overcome sadness. If you do that you will be invincible.”

Flora fell into deep thought and replied after some time “Yesterday, my friends who I trusted from my childhood revealed their true nature, the person whom we met in the city, she is my dearest friend but she too fooled me for a boy.” 

A tear rolled down from her eye, and she let them fall before continuing “Yesterday is a painful time in my life but now I decided to let them be happy. I decided what to do in my future.”

“And what is that?” Ryon inquired.

“To live with my head high,” Flora said with determination and wiped her tears.

Ryon smiled seeing her determination. They both lay down for a while and took a stroll around the area. Flora's mood improved greatly and soon the sun was setting down on the horizon.

Both of them went towards the bus stand and boarded it. Flora took a nap on the bus as it will take some time to reach the city.

Once they reached the city, Flora looked at Ryon with a smile and said “Thank you for the time Ryon, I decided to go abroad and start anew. Hope you will succeed in life.”

Ryon's face fell when he heard she was going abroad but he smiled and said “It’s my pleasure. It is really nice meeting you.”

“Thank you and I wish you all the best.” Ryon extended his hand and Flora shook his hand with a smile.

They don't know whether they will meet again or not, they didn't even ask each other due to fear of not meeting again. But in both of their hearts, they planned to meet each other.

They both turned around and left on their own path leaving the sun sink in his shell.
